Myself and Janusz met in college today as we wanted to come up with additional ideas about which footage should be selected to be placed over the green screen in post, using a tool known as keying. As the cinematographer I wanted to experiment with how the shots could go together so that they would all link onto each other but Janusz had the idea that it should be all random shots, long clips. short clips, had the idea to mix things up a bit which I totally understood and thought that it could work, lets experiment. Anyway I got out my laptop and started to have a play with the Exeter footage to see whether or not clips could link together, work alongside each other, cut aways, created a rough montage, however, we both agreed that we would gain a better understanding of what shots to use once the script had been finished. We have based the script for this project around an interview with the idea of Exeter cathedral as the main point of focus for the background framing, this could change though.

We used this meeting to plan the shoot as well, we have created a Facebook group chat as advised so as to keep in contact with the actors and the rest of the crew but other than me and Janusz none of the rest of the crew are responding, which is quite annoying. Anyway, we worked out that actors would be free on the friday and so we have both booked out the green screen room for 11:30 on friday until 1, however, going back to the instructional video for practical screencraft, we were able to stay in the room longer as no-one had booked it, we only had an hour though and we didn't know much for the setup, where as for this project we know the lighting set up, the type of camera, the area to stand, the sound recorder and everything to make our shoot run smoothly.

I advised Janusz to book out the equipment and provided him with a list of what would be required, still waiting to hear back from him to find out whether he has managed to book all of the equipment required for Friday morning so that we can hopefully have it all set up so that the actors can come straight into the room and were ready to shoot. I am also waiting to get a copy of the script which he will be finishing of, adding the ideas that him and myself have talked about today, he has planned to finish the script by tomorrow, we had the idea to send the script over to the actors so that they too could see the content, run through their lines and perhaps change some of the wording around if they bring any additional ideas to the table. I thought to myself, to ensure that the camera batteries will be charged and that the cards will be formatted, Janusz should book the camera on the Thursday so as we can get it ready for Friday's shoot.
